Fascists!

When the Governor of Tripoli His Excellency Emilio De Bono—to whom I am pleased to reaffirm at this moment all my fraternal and devoted friendship—invited me to visit Tripoli a few months ago, I answered in the affirmative because I wanted the complete attention of the Italians of the colonies.

It is not without significance that my first official tour has been across waters that once belonged to Rome and that now return to the sovereignty of Rome, and that I feel around me the vibrant vigor of the Italian people, a compact nation of soldiers, colonists, and pioneers.

Comrades!

Let us turn our thoughts to that Italy of the past, from which springs the strong Italy of today, which is conscious of its glorious past, but which is ever marching on towards the unfailing triumph of tomorrow.
