I received your telegram of greetings for the New Year and I thank you for that. The year that begins today will probably be decisive and—I am deeply convinced—will see the defeat of the enemy powers. Republican Fascist Italy is preparing to resume its place alongside its venerable German comrades and those of the Tripartite Pact. I cordially send you my best wishes and ask you to accept my most cordial greetings.
