Speech in Bologna, October 30, 1926

To the People of Bologna

By Benito Mussolini

Blackshirts! Citizens!

Every time I return to your city, I feel like I am back among the people of my family, among people linked to me by unbreakable common racial ties.

Three years have passed since I last stood on this balcony, during which time many events and vicissitudes have taken place; but I still remain the same man. (A shout from the crowd: "Yes! Yes!"). The tone of my voice has not changed, nor has my very tenacious will been broken.

Is it not true that your heart beats in unison with mine? ("Yes! Yes!").

Because we are all fighters of the same cause, bearers of the same faith!

Long live Fascism, long live Italy!
